Third generation Toyota Sequoia confirmed for 2022

An all new Toyota Sequoia will go on sale in 2022, the company has revealed as it confirmed new investments and production shuffles at its US factories.

Toyota has retooled and upgraded its Princeton, Indiana factory, which will now focus on the new 2020 Highlander, and the upcoming (related) Sienna. The Indiana factory will stop making the Sequoia by 2022, presumably in time for an all new model.

The next generation Sequoia will instead be made in San Antonio, Texas from 2022, where it will made alongside the related Tundra.

Capacity at San Antonio will remain at 208,000 cars even though production of the Tacoma (by far Toyota’s most popular pickup) will move entirely to the Baja California and Guanajuanto plants in Mexico.
