2016 Hyundai Elantra/Avante is a little more sober

The sixth generation Hyundai Elantra has been revealed with a more refined, but still swoopy exterior, and a more sober interior.

Based on same platform as the fifth generation Elantra (fourth generation Avante), the new Elantra wears Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design and has a more formal, Sonata-like interior.

Three engines will be available at launch, a 1.6-liter direct injection gas engine, 1.6-liter turbo-diesel, and a 2-liter Atkinson cycle gas engine.

New tech for the Elantra includes autonomous emergency braking, high beam assistance, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, hands-free trunk operation, and Harman premium sound system.
