2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: S-Class styling with only 4-cylinder engines

The new W206 C-Class sedan is like the W223 S-Class got lost in the laundry and shrunk in the dryer, and that’s not bad at all.

Even better, the C-Class is available not only as a sedan/saloon, but also a wagon/estate.

All C-Class models (including the not yet revealed AMG C63 and C43) have 4-cylinder engines.

At launch all models with mild hybrid assistance (EQ Boost) with an integrated starter generator that boosts output by 15kW (20hp) and 200Nm (148 lb-ft) when needed.

The gas models at launch in Europe are:

C180: 1.5L turbo I4, 125kW (168hp) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft), RWD only, 0-100km/h in 8.6s, 149g/km CO2
C200: 1.5L turbo I4, 150kW (201hp) and 300Nm (221 lb-ft), optional AWD, 0-100km/h in 7.1 to 7.5s, 157g/km CO2
C300: 2L turbo I4, 190kW (255hp) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft), optional AWD, 0-100km/h in 6s, 168g/km CO2

There are also two diesel models:

C220d: 2L turbo I4, 147kW (197hp) and 440Nm (325 lb-ft), 0-100km/h in 7.3s, 148g/km CO2
C300d: 2L turbo I4, 195kW (262hp) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft), 0-100km/h in 5.7s, 148g/km CO2

Later there will be a plug-in hybrid model with around 100km (62mi) WLTP EV range from a 25.4kWh battery.

The cabin also resembles the S-Class with a 10.25-in or 12.3-in digital instrumentation screen, and a 9.5-in or 11.9-in infotainment screen.
