2020 Cadillac CT5-V is not a CTS-V replacement, not even close

The 2020 Cadillac CT5-V might wear V-Series badging, but it should really have been a V-Sport model given the meager engine output and toned down styling.

The CT5-V has a 3.0L twin turbo V6 with 355hp (265kW), a 10-speed auto, electronic limited slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, Brembo front brakes, 19″ wheels, dark exterior accents, a mesh grille, quad exhaust tips and a new rear diffuser.

That doesn’t sound too bad until you remember the CTS-V had a 6.2L supercharged V8 with a crazy 640hp (480kW) and 630 lb-ft (854Nm).

Really they should’ve made this new model a V-Sport, or made it clear that they’re working on a more hardcore model to truly replace the CTS-V.

Cadillac is working on such a model, they’ve now confirmed.
