While the Nio EP9 is technically road legal, the ID R is record setting monster. Last year, it set an electric car record at the Pikes Peak hill climb.

For both records, the Volkswagen ID R was driven by Romain Dumas.

The ID R has an electric motor for each axle, making a total of 507kW (680hp) and 649Nm (479 lb-ft). With a carbonfiber body and chassis, it weighs under 1,100kg (2,425 lb).
