2019 Volkswagen T-Cross: Small SUV for Europe, China, South America

Based on the MQB-A0 platform, the 2019 Volkswagen T-Cross is the company’s smallest SUV yet, and will be available with a range of turbo engines.


The T-Cross is available with 16″ to 18″ wheels, sliding rear seats, autonomous emergency braking, park assist, blind spot monitoring, a 300W 8-speaker Beats audio system, keyless access, wireless smartphone charging, and 6.5″ touchscreen.

There are three turbocharged gas engines and one diesel engine to choose from:

  • 1L 3-cylinder gas: 70kW (94hp), 175Nm (129 lb-ft), 5-speed manual
    0-100km/h in 11.5s | 180km/h (112mph) top speed

  • 1L 3-cylinder gas: 85kW (114hp), 200Nm (148 lb-ft), 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG
    0-100km/h in 9.9s | 193km/h (120mph) top speed

  • 1.5L 4-cylinder gas: 110kW (148hp), 250Nm (184 lb-ft), 7-speed DSG
    0-100km/h in 7.8s | 220km/h (137mph) top speed

  • 1.6L 4-cylinder diesel: 70kW (94hp), 250Nm (184 lb-ft), 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG
    0-100km/h in 12s | 181km/h (137mph) top speed

Although it has SUV styling, the T-Cross is FWD only.
