2019 Porsche Mission E: Sales target upped to 20,000 sales per year

Porsche has revised its sales target for the Mission E electric sedan to 20,000 cars per year, up from an earlier 15,000 per year estimate.

Oliver Blume, Porsche’s CEO, told Automobilwoche that the company now expects to sell 20,000 electric Mission E sedans a year.

The Tesla Model S rival will be based on the Mission E concept, and will enter production in 2019 at a new factory in the company’s home town of Zuffenhausen.

Porsche is investing €1 billion in the project, and will require 10,000 cars per year for it to be profitable.
