2019 Mazda CX-5: 2.5L turbo and Signature model added to range

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 has been upgraded with a new, much more powerful 2.5L turbo I4 engine, and a new top of the range Signature model, but it will cost you.

The 2.5L turbo SkyActiv 4-cylinder gas engine makes 227hp (169kW) and 310 lb-ft (420Nm) on 87 octane gas, or 250hp (186kW) on better 93 octane gas.

Only a 6-speed auto, which locks the torque converter most of the time for a more direct feel, is standard.

The turbo engine is only available on the Grand Touring Reserve grade (US$34,870), and the new Signature trim (US$37,885), so it’s not cheap.

The new Signature model has brown leather seats, real wood trim, 360 degree camera system, LED interior lighting, 19″ dark silver wheels, and frameless autodimming mirrors.

All models have revised suspension, and an updated G-Vectoring cornering control system.
