2018-2019 Honda Odyssey recalled: Rear sliding doors won’t stay shut

The 2018 and 2019 Honda Odyssey minivan is being recalled in the US and Canada because the power sliding rear doors might roll open during driving.

The recall covers all 107,774 fifth generation Odyssey minivans made between January 19, 2017, to April 16, 2018.

The latch assembly for the power sliding rear door can stick, possibly preventing the latches and strikers from doing their thing holding the door shut. If that happens, the sliding door could open while the car is on the move.

Honda only has a small number latch replacement kits available right now, and recall notices will be sent out from December 2018.

Dealers without kits can temporarily fix the issue by disabling power operation of the sliding doors.
