2018 BMW i3 facelift: Better looks, improved interior, same EV powertrain

The 2018 BMW i3 facelift has new headlamps, grille and bumpers for much improved looks, but the EV powertrain is unchanged.

The i3 now has standard LED headlamps, and heavily restyled front bumper with U shaped accents and more body color paint. There’s also the latest iDrive system and 10.25-inch screen.

The electric powertrain has a total of 125kW (170hp) and 250Nm (186 lb-ft), a single speed transmission, a 0-100km/h time of 7.3s, and an electronically limited top speed of 150km/h (93mph).

A 94Ah / 33kWh battery is standard, and a 28kW (38hp) 2-cylinder range extender gas engine is optional. The i3 has a NEDC EV driving range of 290-300km (180-186mi).
