2017 GMC Acadia: Smaller, second-gen SUV priced from $30k

The second generation smaller 7-seat maximum GMC Acadia goes on sale in the spring of 2016, and will start from US$29,995.


Shortened by 7.2 inches (184mm), the GMC Acadia has lost one seat and around 700 pounds (318kg) of weight. The new Acadia is based on the same Chi architecture found underneath the Cadillac XT5, although with seating for six or seven, it is larger than the Caddy SUV.

The second generation Acadia will be offered in five trim levels and two engines, as well as in FWD, AWD or All Terrain AWD with a trick active twin clutch.

For the first time, the Acadia is available with 4-cylinder engine.
