2016 DS 4S: China only hatch looks a lot like Peugeot 308

The DS 4S is a designed in France, made in China hatchback that, according to Autoblog, bears little in common with the DS 4 and its PF2 platform.

Instead, the DS 4S is based on the PSA Group’s newer EMP2 platform. Technically and in terms of design, the DS 4S shares a lot with the latest Peugeot 308.

Compared to the 308, the DS 4S has new front and rear end styling, a stretched wheelbase, and an all new interior. Power comes from two gas engines, a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo with either 109hp (81kW) or 129hp (96kW).

The other option is a 1.8-liter turbo 4-cylinder with between 136hp (101kW) and 204hp (152kW).

The DS 4S will be built in a joint venture plant owned by PSA and Changan in Shenzen, China.
