VX Dodge Viper price cut by $15k; voucher for current owners

The VX Dodge Viper is proving to be a tougher sell than sand to Sahara residents, so the company has cut prices by up to US$15,000.

The full price cut applies to 2014 model year cars still on dealer lots (of which there are apparently quite a few). 2015 model year cars, which were announced just recently and feature an extra 5hp, amongst other features, are only a US$100 to $610 off those new prices.

Current owners of the VX Viper will be compensated by a US$15,000 voucher that can be used to purchase a new Viper. We’re not sure how many current owners are inclined to take Fiat Chrysler up on this offer, so this may turn out to be cost-free compensation for FCA.

The 2015 model year Viper now starts at US$84,995 for the entry-level SRT (down from US$99,885). The new GT spec is priced at US$94,995. Next up is the US$100,995 Track Attack (TA) trim which was formerly priced at US$115,885. The range-topping GTS now retails for US$107,995 (down from US$122,385).
