Nissan Leaf transformed into a moving Christmas display

The electric Nissan Leaf hatch has been transformed into a moving Christmas display powered by the car’s lithium-ion battery pack.

Nissan Europe has fitted thousands of LED lights, and glistening baubles to the Leaf to transform it into the Nissan (Christmas) Tree. It also has a reindeer on the roof, and icicle lights on the wheels.

Through regenerative braking, Nissan estimates the average Leaf driver recovers 744kWh of energy every year if they drive 11,000mi (17,700km). That’s about 20% of the domestic energy consumption of the average household.
