Maserati Quattroporte etymology: What does its name mean?

The Maserati Quattroporte is the brand’s flagship sedan and traces its history back to 1963, but what does its name mean?


This one’s pretty easy, the Maserati Quattroporte is literally Italian for four doors (quattro porte). Imagine if Aston Martin named their sedan Four Door, it’d be considerably less sexy, wouldn’t it?
