Fiat FCC4 concept mixes four-door coupe with pickup truck

Three popular categories around the world right now are pickup trucks, four-door “coupes” and high-riding SUVs. So, Fiat thought, why not combine all three together into one vehicle.

The result is the Fiat FCC4, which will make its debut at the 2014 Sao Paulo Auto Show.

This big beast — it’s five metres long — features four passenger doors, a fastback-style rear windscreen that dives underneath the car’s C-pillars, frame door windows, and asymmetric trunk doors.

An Spiderman-style web lattice is visible underneath the fastback canopy behind the rear passenger seats and beneath the panoramic glass roof. We’re not entirely certain what purpose it serves.

Fiat has yet to say what’s motivating the FCC4.

Etymology

What does FCC4 mean? FCC stands for Fiat Concept Car. Creative. Presumably the car has an all-wheel drive system to justify its 4 suffix.
