Buick Cascada convertible coming to the US from early 2016

A day ahead of the opening of the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, Buick has confirmed that it will be bringing the Opel Cascada to the US badged as the Buick Cascada.


The Buick Cascada will go on sale Stateside from early 2016 and will be the first Buick-badged convertible to be offered in 25 years.

Under the hood there be a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 200hp (149kW) and 206 lb-ft (280Nm) — 221 lb-ft (300Nm) is available on overboost. Drive goes to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Cascada’s power operated soft-top can lower itself in 17 seconds at speeds up to 31mph (50km/h).

Tech available on the new Buick Cascada includes the IntelliLink entertainment system a 7-inch display, OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hot spot capabilities, electric front seats with powered entry for rear seat occupants, pop-up rollover protection bars, lane departure warning, reversing camera and parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, and electric safety belts with telescopic arms.
