Bentley Bentayga: What does its name mean?

The Bentley Bentayga is the British luxury brand’s first SUV, and the first ultra-luxury crossover, but where does it name come from?

The Bentley Bentayga is named after Roque Bentayga on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. According to Bentley, the peak “draws attention from all directions and a challenging climb rewards with spectacular panoramic views of a rich and diverse landscape”

Bentley also states that the Bentayga name also pays tribute to the taiga, or boreal forest or snow forest, that stretches across the top of the Earth’s landmass from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia through to Alaska and much of Canada.
