Thanks to low gas prices and an ageing car that should be replaced within a year or two, Toyota is adding plenty of incentives to the Prius in its biggest US market.
In April, Toyota added US$2,500 worth of incentives for Prius buyers in the state of California.
This month, Toyota has put another US$500 worth of cash on the hood on the Prii sold in Los Angeles, bringing the total amount of incentives to US$3,000.
The US$500 offer expires on June 1. A similar offer in San Francisco finished on May 26.
