2021 Polestar 2 production begins, on sale in Europe later this year

Polestar (the electric car brand spun off from Volvo) has begun production of its 2 electric liftback at its factory in Luqiao in China.


Based on the CMA platform used by the Volvo XC40 and Lynk & Co range, the Polestar 2 is a Tesla Model 3 competitor with 300kW (402hp) and 660Nm (487 lb-ft), and AWD.

It has a 0-100km/h time of 5 seconds.

Equipped with a 78kWh battery, the Polestar 2 has a WLTP driving range of 470km (292mi) WLTP range. It also the first to come with an Android powered infotainment system with built in Google Maps and Play Store.

The Polestar 2 will be sold first in Europe, with China and the US following afterwards.
