2020 Skoda Octavia: A prettier Mark VIII Golf in liftback & wagon

The Skoda Octavia is again the more practical and better value Czech made version of the latest Volkswagen Golf, and this time it’s better looking too.


Right from the start, it will be available as a sedan style liftback and Combi estate.

Available features include matrix LED headlamps, dynamic LED taillights, head up display, 10.25″ digital instrumentation screen, 2 spoke steering wheel, 19″ wheels, 10″ MIB3 infotainment system, LED interior ambient lighting, shift by wire DSG transmission, USB-C ports, and massaging seats.

There are 3 gas powertrain options to choose from including a 81kW (109hp) 1L turbo I3, a 110kW (148hp) 1.5L turbo I4, and a 140kW (188hp) 2L turbo I4 with AWD. There’s also a mild hybrid version of the 1L and 1.5L engines.

Three versions of the 2L turbo-diesel are available: 85kW (114hp), 110kW (148hp) and 147kW (197hp). There’s also a 96kW (129hp) 1.5L CNG (compressed natural gas) and 150kW (201hp) 1.4L plug-in hybrid available.
