2020 Porsche Taycan 4S: Two battery & powertrain options for entry model

The new 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S sits below the more powerful, and stupidly named, Taycan Turbo and Turbo S models, and is the car’s entry level model.

Just as confusingly the new 4S is available with two powertrain/battery combinations.

The entry entry level model has the Performance setup with a 390kW (523hp) from its two electric motors, and a 79.2kWh battery for a WLTP range of 407km (253mi).

The not quite entry level modal has the Performance Plus combo with a 420kW (563hp) powertrain, and the 93.4kWh battery from the Turbo S and Turbo for a WLTP range of 463km (388mi).

Both Taycan 4S models have 19″ wheels, a different front bumper design, and a 2-speed transmission for the rear axle. The 4S has a 0-100km/h time of 4s, and a 250km/h (155mph) top speed.

The more powerful Taycan Turbo is a 0-100km/h time of 3.2s, but range is down to 388km (241mi).
