2020 BMW M2 CS: More twin-turbo I6 power, lighter body, gold wheels

The 2020 BMW M2 CS has a more powerful 3L twin-turbo I6 with 331kW (450hp) at 6,250rpm, and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) between 2,350 and 5,500rpm.

That’s 29kW (40hp) more than the M2 Competition; torque is unchanged. The 0-100km/h time is 4.0s with the optional 7-speed DCT, and 4.2s with the standard 6-speed manual. Top speed in 280km/h (174mph) with the M Driver’s Pack.

The M2 CS has 19″ wheels in high gloss black or matt gold with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (245/35 front and 265/35 rear).

Weight is down because CFRP (carbonfiber-reinforced plastic) is used for the hood (with a central air vent) and roof.

Other exclusive features include a new front splitter, Gurney spoiler lip on the trunk, and rear diffuser with exposed carbonfiber.

Standard features are adaptive suspension, red brake calipers, active differential, bucket seats from the M4 CS with Alcantara and leather, and Alcantara steering wheel with red center marker.

Options include ceramic brakes, and an exclusive paint color (Misano Blue metallic).
