2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI: Golf GTI sedan with a few R bits

The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is the compact performance sedan with 2L turbo I4 making 228hp (170kW) and 258 lb-ft (350Nm).

A 6-speed manual is standard, and a 7-speed DSG with automatic engine stop/start is optional.

Because of the extra power and torque, the GLI comes standard with a VAQ limited-slip differential, 0.6″ (15mm) lower suspension, Golf R brakes with red callipers, and a multi-link independent rear suspension (regular Jetta models have a cheaper torsion beam setup).

Other upgrades include 18″ wheels, sportier front and rear bumpers, a black honeycomb grille with a red stripe, rear spoiler, and dual exhaust tips in chrome.

Standard features include LED headlamps and taillamps, cloth seats, dual zone climate control, 10 color interior ambient lighting, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, keyless entry, push button start, automatic wipers, and heated front seats.

Available features include leather seats, front seat ventilation, digital instruments, and a 400W Beats Audio system.

There are three GLI grades: base, 35th Anniversary, and Autobahn. A 35th Anniversary Edition includes special badging, black wheels with a red stripe, and black roof, mirrors and spoiler.
