Needless to say the HR-V's body panels are unchanged. Same with the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine, which still makes 141hp (105kW) and 127 lb-ft (172Nm). Sad news, the 6-speed manual is no longer available. It's CVT only there is choice of FWD or AWD.

Look closely and you can see the tail-lamps are different. On lower trims the indicator and reversing light are whiter, and the change is easier to see. There's also a chrome bar above the license plate on some models.

Interior changes are minor (except the infotainment system). The A-pillars are redesigned for improved safety, and the Honda Sensing safety suite is standard on EX and above. It includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and lane departure warning.

The updated 2019 HR-V is available with Honda's latest Display Audio infotainment system, which is better for having a more intuitive design and interface, a physical volume knob and on/off switch, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The instrument pods have an extra splash of chrome or metal, but the changes in front of the driver are minimal.

The interior remains pretty much the same, and that means Magic Seats!
