2019 Acura RDX production begins at East Liberty, Ohio, factory

All 2019 Acura RDX crossovers will be built in Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio, factory, and production of the critical new SUV is now under way.


Although the RDX has always been made in North America since its introduction in 2006, the third generation model is the first to be designed and engineered here too.

Since its launch 12 years ago until the end of April 2018, around 375,000 RDX models have been sold in the USA.

Five (ILX, TLX, RDX, MDX, and NSX) of the six Acura models sold in the USA are produced in Ohio. Only the RLX, sold as the Honda Legend elsewhere, is made in Japan. The CDX (not sold in the USA

The new Acura RDX has a 2-liter turbo I4 engine with 272hp (203kW) and 280 lb-ft (380Nm) made in Anna, Ohio, and a 10-speed automatic made in Tallapoosa, Georgia.
