2018 Toyota C-HR: Will push Toyota USA to 60:40 truck to car ratio

The aggressively styled Toyota C-HR mini-SUV will “rebalance” the brand’s US sales from a 50:50 truck to car ratio to something like 60:40 truck to car.

Bill Fay, general manager of the Toyota brand in the US, told Automotive News, “I’m very optimistic for 2017, because we’ll have a better supply of RAV and Highlander. We’ll launch this beautiful C-HR and will be in a much better position to meet customer demand on the sport-utility side of things.”

Improved supplies for the RAV4 will come from Japan, while Toyota is adding an extra line to the Highlander factory in Indiana.

Toyota will also improve supply of the Toyota Tacoma midsize pickup with expanded production at Tijuana, Mexico.
