2018 Audi SQ5: Performance SUV dumps supercharged, diesel engines

The second-gen Audi SQ5 dumps the diesel and supercharged gas options in favor of a 3-liter turbo V6 with 260kW (354hp), and 500Nm (369 lb-ft) between 1,370 and 4,500rpm.


The new SQ5 weighs 35kg (77 lb) less than the old model, and has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds, an electronically limited top speed 25 km/h (155mph), and an NEDC fuel economy rating of 8.3L/100km (28.3mpg US).

Standard equipment includes Quattro AWD, an 8-speed automatic, 20-inch wheels, and Alcantara and leather sport seats.

Also available is a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, digital instruments, B&O 3D sound system, 4G LTE internet and Wi-Fi hotspot.

The SQ5 will be made in Mexico, and it first goes on sale in Germany in mid 2017.
