2018 Subaru Impreza Crosstrek: XV name for mini-Outback gone in USA

The all new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek (don’t call it an Impreza or XV!) has standard AWD, taller suspension, offroad styling, and a 2-liter H4 engine.

The new Crosstrek drops the XV and Impreza names, but is almost the same as the XV in Europe, Japan and the rest of the world.

Based on the Impreza, the Crosstrek has black cladding for the wheelarches, rocker panels and roof rails, and 8.7-inch (221mm) ground clearance, 17-inch wheels, and active torque vectoring

Models with CVT have driver adjustable X-Mode for better handling on steep inclines and slippery surfaces. A 6-speed manual is also available.

The Impreza Crosstrek has a 2-liter direct injection boxer 4-cylinder with 152hp (113kW).
