2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA: Hard to spot X156 facelift has more technology

The 2018 model year Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift made its debut at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show, but you’d be hard pressed to see what the changes are.

Yes, the GLA has new bumpers and grille, and a revised interior, but the changes are minor. There is an eye catching shade of orange though.

New items include a larger 8-inch infotainment screen, surround view camera system, LED headlamps, new instruments, and standard automated emergency braking.

There’s also a Yellow Night Edition appearance package for the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 with yellow highlights, matt black wheels with yellow trim, a rear wing, and matt gray stripes.

Outside of the US there’s a new GLA220 4Matic model with a turbocharged 4-cylinder with 135kW (184hp) and 300Nm (221 lb-ft). The GLA220 bridges the gap between the existing 115kW (156hp) GLA200 and 155kW (211hp) GLA250 gas models.

The facelifted GLA goes on sale in Germany from January 2017, and during the summer of 2017 in the USA.
