2018 Chevrolet Cavalier returns to Mexico as a rebodied J300 Cruze

The new Chevrolet Cavalier is built in China, and is 2008-2016 Chevrolet Cruze has a new body and modern interior. It’s coming to Mexico from mid Q3 2017.


The fourth generation Chevrolet Cavalier was launched in September 2016 in China, and is built in SAIC-GM’s new Wuhan plant, with over 100,000 sold to date.

The Cavalier revives a name retired in 2005, and is based on the J300 Cruze. There’s all new exterior body panels, LED driving lights, 430L (15.2 cu-ft) trunk, and a new interior with the latest MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen.

Other features include a internal particulate filter, high strength steel body, stability control, tire pressure monitoring, and LED taillamps.

The Cavalier has a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gas engine with 80kW (107hp) and 141Nm (104 lb-ft), and automatic engine start/stop. The FWD Cavalier has a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

The 2018 Chevrolet Cavalier goes on sale in Mexico in the middle of Q3 2017.
