2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid starts at $23k, $2.5k less than Toyota Prius

The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid starts at US$23,035 including destination, cheaper than the equivalent Prius, and the Ioniq Electric starts at US$30,335.

The new Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Blue is US$2,535 cheaper than the Toyota Prius Two. The midrange SEL is priced at US$24,785, and the top of the range Limited at US$28,335.

All Ioniq Hybrid models have a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed dual clutch transmission, and 24kW electric motor for a total of 139hp (104kW) and 195 lb-ft (264Nm).

The Hyundai Ioniq Electric has an 88kW electric motor, and a single speed transmission. The base Electric starts at US$30,335, and the Limited is US$33,335.
