2018 Hyundai i30 Fastback: Longer, lower liftback has stiffer suspension

The third generation Hyundai i30 now has a 5-door fastback model in addition to the 5-door hatch, and its lower, longer and sportier than the regular hatch.

The Hyundai i30 Fastback has 5mm (0.2-in) lower suspension, and 15% stiffer springs. The Fastback has more trunk space with a body that’s 115mm (4.5-in) longer, all of it at the rear.

It has roof that 30mm (1.2-in) lower too. There are two gas and two diesel engine options.

The i30 Fastback was designed in Europe, and will only be made in the Czech Republic. It goes on sale early 2018.

The regular i30 4-door hatch is on sale in Europe, and is sold in the US as the Elantra GT.
