Volkswagen ID Buzz: Microbus revived again as EV, will they build it?

The Volkswagen ID Buzz is the latest concept to revive the Type 2 Microbus idea, but this time it’s an all electric minivan. Will it be built, though?

The Volkswagen ID Buzz is based on MEB-XL, an extended version of Volkswagen’s electric platform. It has a 275kW (369hp) AWD layout that can easily be converted to RWD for cheaper models.

With a 111kWh lithium ion battery, the ID Buzz has a range of around 435km (270mi). It can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes via a Combined Charging System (CCS) or more slowly with a 150kW inductive charging system.

The ID Buzz can seat up to 8 people, has two luggage compartment. There’s also an ID Pilot self-driving mode, and the driver’s seat can turn up to 180 degrees for a true lounge atmosphere.
