Volkswagen Golf Alltrack: Mark VII tries to emulate Subaru Outback

The Mark VII Volkswagen Golf Alltrack will debut off-road styling at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but won’t go on sale until the spring of 2015.

Compared to the regular Mark VII Volkswagen Golf wagon (sorry, Variant), the Alltrack features suspension that’s been jacked up 20mm.

There’s also wheel arch and side sill extensions, 17-inch alloys, and front and rear bumpers with bash plate-style additions. Matte silver is used on the wing mirrors, roof rails and on the detailing.

Inside there’s leather on the steering wheel and shift lever, a dark magnesium-coloured centre console, ambient lighting, climate control, LED reading lights front and rear, driver alert system and cruise control.

Four engines (three diesel and one petrol) will be fitted to the Golf Alltrack in Europe, details of which we’ve listed below. The petrol and top-spec 135kW diesel both come fitted with a 6-speed dual-clutch (DSG) transmission as standard.

The new Mark VII Golf Alltrack goes on sale in the third quarter of 2015.
