Toyota Aygo Cross: City SUV will replace small hatch

The 2021 Toyota Aygo Prologue X concept previews a new city SUV, which will probably replace the Aygo hatch.

The current (and previous) Aygo were jointly developed with the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, but the French company has pulled out of the joint venture and sold its stake in the factory to Toyota.

Toyota has decided to go it alone, and take on the European A-segment that everyone else is fleeing and to make the numbers work, the Aygo will become a mini-SUV, probably badged Aygo Cross.

Gas engines will be standard, and there are rumors of a hybrid option. The platform will be a cut down version of the TNGA architecture used for the Yaris.
