Suzuki Celerio, Baleno axed in the UK due to poor sales

Slow sales have caused Suzuki UK to axe the Celerio and Baleno from its range, with the company choosing to focus resources on other models.

New and unregistered cars will no longer be available for sale from the end of August, Suzuki UK confirmed to Autocar.

Suzuki will continue selling its Ignis, Swift, S-Cross and Vitara models in the UK. It will announce new models or variants to deal with the tighter 2020 emissions regulations in the near future.

In 2018 Suzuki sold around 15,000 Baleno hatches in Europe, and 21,000 Celerio models. The more popular Swift managed 55,000, and Ignis was over 42,000.
