Renault Alaskan concept: French nose on NP300 Navara

The Renault Alaskan concept grafts a French nose onto the Nissan NP300 Navara pickup truck, and previews a new production car due in H1 2016.

The Alaskan concept has 21-inch alloy wheels and LED taillights in aluminum surrounds. It’s powered by a twin-turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine from the Master range of vans.

The production version of the Alaskan, again based on the NP300 Navara, will be unveiled in the first half of 2016. It will feature “a broad range of body types and powertrains”, so think single, club and dual cab, and gas and diesel engines.

Ironically, the Alaskan will not be sold in Alaska, because Renault has no presence in the US or Canada.
