Porsche Mission E: Sexy electric sedan aimed at Tesla

The 4-door, 4-seat Porsche Mission E has a 600hp/440kW electric drivetrain and is aimed directly at the successful Tesla Model S. Will they make it though?

That’s the big question, because this concept car looks absolutely amazing.

The Mission E has two electric motors that together provide over 600hp/440kW and drive all four wheels. That’s good for 0 to 100km/h time of under 3.5 seconds and a 0 to 200km/h time of below 12 seconds.

Torque vectoring delivers drive to correct wheels as needed, and all-wheel steering makes for sharp, precise steering. A sub-8 minute lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife is possible.

The batteries can be recharged in ultra-fast time thanks to the 800V fast charging port. Other fast chargers max out at 400V. Using the fast charger, the battery can replenished to 80 percent charge (or 400km/250mi range) within 15 minutes.

The lithium ion batteries run the length of the car between the front and rear axles (between the axles!!) and are good for a driving range of 500km/310mi.

There’s 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels at the rear. The body is made from aluminum, steel and CFRP.
