Mini may go all electric by 2030, new models coming before then

Mini will probably be the next carmaker to announce plans to move from internal combustion engines to only electric motors.

Sources have told Bloomberg the plan is for Mini to only sell electric cars by 2030, and the plan will likely be announced on March 17 by CEO Oliver Zipse at BMW’s annual general meeting.

The company’s last new ICE car will be launched in 2025, and by 2027 at least half of all new Minis sold will be EVs.

One of the first EVs will be made in China in a partnership with Great Wall Motors.
