GMC VP wants Jeep Wrangler rival, small SUV and more

Buick-GMC Vice President in charge of sales, marketing and service, Duncan Aldred, spoke to Edmunds about what products he would like to see for GMC in order to “turbocharge” growth.

First product mentioned is a flagship SUV “over” the Yukon (above) and Yukon XL. As to whether Aldred is referring to a larger vehicle or a more luxurious one, in the vein of Range Rover, is unclear.

Next up he’d like a small crossover, around the size of the Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax. Given that most GMC and Buick dealerships are already twinned, that’s not necessarily a great idea.

Lastly, Aldred mentions mentions “active all-road, Wrangler-esque type of vehicle”.

What are your thoughts? What type of new vehicles does GMC need to grow and change its image?
