Ford Ranger Raptor not coming to the USA

Looks like the Ford Ranger Raptor isn’t coming to the USA because it’s only available overseas with a diesel engine, and would cut into the F-150 Raptor.

Hermann Salenbauch, vehicle line director at Ford Performance, told Autoblog the company has no plans to bring the Ranger Raptor to the US.

One major factor cited in the decision is the fact the Ranger Raptor is based on the global model, not the modified version developed for the USA.

The Ranger Raptor is also only available with a twin-turbo 2L diesel engine with 157kW (211hp) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft). Engineering a V6 gas engine to take its place seems to be too costly, and would probably eat into sales of the US$50,000 F-150 Raptor.
