Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition turns a Z71 all black

Following on from the Impala Midnight Edition, Chevrolet will soon crank out a blacked-out version of the Silverado 1500 Z71 pickup truck.

Almost everything which can be painted black is with the new Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition. The special edition mode features a black grille, bumper, headlight bezels, fog light surrounds, tow hooks, side mouldings, 18-inch alloy wheels, spray-in bedliner and, even, Chevrolet badges.

Features carried over from the Silverado 1500 Z71 include off-road suspension, hill descent control, trailer package and a locking rear differential. All Midnight models will also come with rear parking sensors and heated wing mirrors.

The Silverado Midnight Edition was shown off yesterday at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention in San Francisco, and will make its public debut at the Chicago Motor Show on February 14.

A maximum of 5,000 Silverado Midnight Edition models will be produced throughout the 2015 model year. The Midnight Edition package will be available in both double- and crew-cab Silverado models, with the package priced between US$1,595 and US$1,995.
