GM says that around a third of all C7 Chevrolet Corvette is dedicated to the high performance Z06 model.
GM dropped this nugget of information whilst announcing that it is investing US$44 million to increase capacity of its Performance Build Center at the Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky.
Bowling Green assembles all variants of the C7 Corvette, while the Performance Build Center makes the LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 in the Z06, which makes 650hp (485kW) and 650 lb-ft (881Nm). The Build Center was previously located in Wixom, Michigan.
So far this year 30,876 Corvettes have sold in the US.
