Audi drops manual transmissions in the US with A4, A5 option removed

The manuals are dead! The manuals are dead! The manuals are dead because noone is buying them. And now the no cost option Audi A4 and A5 is gone.

Audi had offered a 6-speed manual transmission as a no cost option on the 2018 Audi A4 and Audi A5 coupe with the standard 252hp (188kW) 2L turbo I4 and Quattro AWD drivetrain.

These were last stick shift models available in Audi’s US range.

According to Car and Driver, only 5% of buyers chose the manual option, and it will be removed from the 2019 range.

There are still some 2018 A4 and A5 manuals on dealer lots, and the 2019 model year cars go on sale in late 2018.
