Acura CDX ruled out for US, even as market goes mad for SUVs

America loves SUVs. America is meh about Acura. So it’s weird and crazy Acura doesn’t want to bring the CDX to America to strengthen its range.

A spokesperson told Automotive News it has no plans to bring the CDX, based on the Honda HR-V, to the US.

The company believes it can entice customers with the base model RDX, which starts at US$38,295 including shipping.

“We have a very efficient lineup. That’s our approach. We’re disciplined that way,” Jon Ikeda told Automotive News.

Ikeda said the brand won’t expand its range of crossovers, and will focus instead on perfecting its core models.
