Chevrolet Essentia, Beat Activ: First look at updated Indian Beat

The Chevrolet Beat Activ concept and production-ready Essentia sedan at the New Delhi Auto Show give us a first look at India’s facelifted Chevy Beat.

The new Chevrolet Essentia sedan (basically a Beat with a boot), and the Beat Activ concept both feature the new front end of the facelifted Beat for the Indian market. Gone are the oversized headlights, replaced with units similar to the ones found on the new Spark sold elsewhere in the world.

Instead of an all new model, this heavy update will be used in India. Both the Essentia and Beat will also have an update interior. Top end models will have a MyLink 2 touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In India, the Essentia sedan will go on sale later this year, while the updated Beat hatch is due in 2017.

The Beat hatch will like the Activ concept, minus the decals and fender guards. It’s possible that the Activ previews a new off-road-style model with a raised suspension setup.
