2022 Subaru WRX: Levorg sedan has controversial design, 2.4L turbo

The internet doesn’t like it, but the new Subaru WRX has a body that’s completely distinct from the Impreza it used to be based on.

Actually, the new body is largely shared with the Levorg wagon that’s only sold in Japan and some other countries.

Along with the controversial new styling (and Wilderness plastic fender flares!) is a 2.4L turbo H4 with 202kW (271hp) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft).

AWD is standard, as is a 6-speed manual. There’s also a CVT with eight artificial gears.

A new GT trim sits at the top of the range, and has Recaro seats, 18-in wheels with 245/40 summer tires, and a 11.6-in vertical touchscreen.
