The 10th generation Civic was all about sportiness, with its fastback shape, and oversized vents and intakes. The new Civic emphasizes luxury, and has a much more conservative design.

The 11th generation Civic uses the same platform as the previous model, but the wheelbase has been stretched about 37mm (1.5-in). The fastback shape is gone, and the sedan is more obviously a sedan.
