CitroenC5 X

2021 Citroen C5 X: It’s not pretty, but it’s not a sedan and it’s different

Non premium executive cars are basically dead in Europe (thank you A-Class and thank you SUVs), so Citroen is zagging.

The company is returning the class, but not with a regular estate/wagon or sedan or (even) a hatch dressed up as a four door coupe.

Instead it’s a weird hatch/wagon hybrid with a tall ride height that kinda looks like an SUV, but not quite.

The C5 X is based on the EMP platform shared with the Peugeot 508, so there’s no full electric version. The flagship model has a PHEV powertrain with 168kW (225hp), electric operation up to 135km/h (84mph), and a WLTP EV range of 50km (31mi).
